I wear shorts when its sunny, in fact, I wear shorts most days, I wear shorts with fishnets, I wear shorts with suspenders. At my sixth form, there are no rules about what you can or cannot wear. I know I have a different dress sense to the rest of my school. However I have had teachers tell me that I look like a hooker, a prostitute, like I belong on a 70s street corner. Why? Because of how I dress. Now, I have been in a very stable relationship for over a year now, and we actually waited six months for sex. So they obviously don’t know what a prostitute does. No I’m not saying people that prostitutes are bad, if they want to do it then go for it, if its desperation I feel sorry for them and wish I could help but just letting ya’ll know that before I get lots of hate. I wear t shirts every day as well, baggy ones, which, are in no way revealing. Now there are boys who wear t shirts with naked women on, and girls who wear revealing tops and mini skirts. But I’m the one they are calling names, I’ve been told I cant wear my shorts anymore. I have also had this same issue with a coat I bought. What has happened to this society for them to find it acceptable to tell students they look like hookers. If you say it to one, say it to all, make rules, but no, they wont because everyone else is clearly revealing far less than I am. Sorry, I’m just very frustrated at the way they stereotype clothing and women.
